Reading Room

Contemporary Art Centre of Vilnius, Lithuania, 2009

The Reading Room of the Contemporary Art Centre in Vilnius acts like an interior garden. It is an informal and dynamic space for meetings, lectures and studies. The custom-made furniture consists of individual objects that when grouped together potentially form a larger entity. Each table has a unique shape. When grouped together, the tables form a large rectangular table. The adjustable lamps can hang on different heights. When they are pulled up they form a new ceiling. Each chair is made unique through different embroidered seedlings, and when viewed together they form a chair garden.
